Jin Choi
Jin Choi is in charge of the Asian operations for Genii Capital and is also head of Ikogest Asia, a real estate member of The Genii Group. Jin looks after the Asian management and operations and takes responsibility for evaluating strategic investments in operating companies and establishing joint ventures.
Previously, Jin was Managing Director and Head of the Asian operations of Villeroy & Boch’s Tableware Division, based in both Hong Kong and Tokyo offices. During his 8 years at the company, Jin opened the Singapore office and established the firm’s logistics platform in Japan. Prior to Villeroy & Boch, Jin worked as a corporate and securities lawyer in Toronto, Canada with Fraser & Beatty. While at the firm, he was seconded to Kim & Chang in Seoul and Hyundai Motors Canada in Toronto.
Jin brings management expertise, a record of successful turnarounds, branding and marketing expertise, as well as legal and cross-cultural skills. Currently, Jin is Chairman of the University of Toronto Alumni Association of Korea and recently served as Chairman of the Investment Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs, Republic of Korea.
Jin Choi is a Bachelor of Arts graduate of the University of Toronto, with a law degree from the Faculty of Law, Queen’s University, where he was President of the Law Students’ Society.He speaks English, Korean and Japanese
